New GM: Caelus

I am not sure Logress mentioned player-experience, I think that was Lateralus. My understanding is that Caelus would be playing more and be the gm specialising in deck building and player strategy. I am not sure how long it would take for a gm to be able to give advice for decks like EM or big red when he would not be likely to have access to the required cards in the short term/ever.

I have not seen either of the new gms in action anywhere yet. Is this because of hours of business?

@ Fargone. Certainly, I coined the phrase "player experience" in this instance. However, I don't belive it was a far cry from Logress's statement that Caelus would be an expert in playing. Well, you know as well as I that this game isn't just battle after battle. Some things that us normal players do:

1) MM
2) gran management (ie: deciding whether to save for EX events, seasonal, new sets. Whether to spend on lotto, gold boxes, packs, beginners packs, etc)
3) Attend events / Participate in contests
4) Make decisions on level up / point card spending
5) Visit the chat and forums
6) Endlessly complain about card balance
7) Play meta decks endlessly cause of TB's

I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but the bottom line is - we have a strong community that is always willing to help with deck construction and provide advise to newer players. I'm certainly not trying to downplay Caelus's role, but we have vets who provide advise all the time - I've never seen a noobie request for help go unanswered.

My thought is that he would provide a player perspective to the GMs, which I think is something that has been mentioned by Lupos, but not necessarily implemented.

That being said, I haven't had time for much Alteil lately so I don't know how prevalent Caelus has been in the Arenas. And I'm pretty sure SpaceKnight is just a forum mod, for what it's worth.

As for Caelus, I have no way of knowing what he's up to, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. (Just cause we don't hear from GGG very often, doesn't mean she's not behind the scenes.)

As for Spaceknight, has anyone checked other forums for unwarranted moderation? I think he got lost somewhere on the road of life.

This might sound rude, but I highly suspect spaceknight to be Logress on an alt account, and no I am not joking.

Why do you suspect that Gota? What could the spaceknight account do that the Logress account couldn't? Plus, the spaceknight account has hardly even posted so it's not being used as an 'alter ego' or anything.

To 'mask' that they are not understaffed and to show that they are acquiring more help when in reality is that they are in no position to hire more help.

Its silly I know, but it seemed like a desperate move and you can't deny that the new accounts posted as we complaint about its activity and when we stop complaining about their activity, they disappears.

I have no proof of it, just my instincts, and if it is true, then I do think it was a silly move on their part.

P.S. you are getting the wrong idea about alt account, you are right in saying that he has no use for an alt in terms of the things you were pointing out to, which are what players would do it for, but Logress isn't a player of this game. Ok he is a player, rephrase, customer? you know what I mean.

You were thinking of reasons a player would do alt accounts, you should be thinking about reasons why staff would do it, then you would have come to that conclusion i posted above, and it would also explain why those accounts are 'inactive' its already a pain to check forums everyday for them, having to log in and out of accounts on top of that is inconvenient since as you know, those new accounts probably have (no) or less power, heck, none of the 2 accounts are even listed as moderators on the forum.
