Sigh, can't say I blame them for running, all things considered. Anyway, those of you who've decided to take a chance and read on, hoping it's not spam (or looking for a discount viagra supplier), YES we are adding SUPER REWARDS to the Cashier TOMORROW MORNING.



SUPER REWARDS is a simple service where you go and look at ads, fill out surveys or sign up for things in exchange for FREE Gran.

But WAIT, I know what you're saying. You can already go to the CASHIER and hit PAYBYCASH and fill out surveys to get free gran. Why is this news supposed to be exciting? Why did it take months of legal crap by Logress to get done? Why did Lupos spend two weeks building it into the cashier so far in advance that it was basically guaranteed to be accidentally deleted in a server restore and remade completely from scratch between then and now?

Well, I like you, so I'll tell you. Paybycash is an awesome service. We love them, they are still the best way for people without a credit card to buy things on Alteil with earth money. However, they're kind of a jack of all trades company. In addition to their main Ultimate Gamercard service, they also try to do everything that has to do with the internet and money, which means some of their stuff isn't as awesome as it could be. Right now, it looks like their service mostly gives you 100-200 Gran a pop, and usually for some veiled attempt to harvest your email address. Pretty much no different than the ads you see spammed on the side of every website in existence inviting you to get a free credit report or find out what Avatar character you are. Those websites they link to aren't going to have much in the way of contact info, and you can bet their physical address (which US web companies are required to have) is a pickup truck with the engine running.

Like I said, PaybyCash is a great company, and I'm sure someday they'll build that service into something awesome (of course, many of our users have gotten some mileage out of it as is, as well), but right now let's say it's not ideal for everyone.

Anyway, SUPER REWARDS is part of ADKNOWLEDGE, and they're pretty much the specialists for this kind of thing. They have a sales force that goes to major companies and convinces them to put offers and stuff up on their service. Sure, they'll be some spam but you'll actually see tons of name brand companies with offers listed there, guys you've heard of and have physical addresses and customer service and things like that. Also, the values are higher so you might be hitting up boxes after trying them out instead of the Lottery.

That said, we're adding them on a provisional basis for now. Because this falls in a gray area between advertising revenue and regular revenue it's under a separate contract with Japan, and depending on the popularity and how easy it is to deal with them as a company, it may or may not work out. I highly encourage everyone to check them out tomorrow. If you don't feel comfortable doing any of their offers, no problem. Just take a look at what they have there. What's important is that everyone gives their opinion, because it will make a difference in our future decision making and direction in how Alteil makes its money from now on.

Ya though I think we're not the target demographic that thing is aimed at. We spend too much moneys as is.

Clearly, more aimed at free players. I just went through some of the offers. There's a lot of crap to sift through but there's some decent stuff too (actually pretty much all the same crap on paybycash is mixed in there with the better stuff). For example, they may have a thing where if you sign up for their mailing list and they give you some free gran. Obviously a bad idea if it's an email harvester, but if you look for some more major brands, Bing has one up now, then you can be fairly confident they'll actually take you off their mailing list later if you request it. It switches around, but a lot of websites do stuff where if you buy something from their site they will give you free gran (that's usually where the big numbers of Gran come from), a few of them are websites you might use anyway. The real nice thing is that because super rewards doesn't do anything except this, they keep adding new offers. I know last year they had a thing where if you signed up for netflicks through their link you got like 20-30 bucks for a few months.

Right now I'm trying to figure a good way to sift through them, sometimes you have to go through a few pages of 'auto insurance quotes' before you get something decent.

I have a bit of experience with these from some other "free" games I play. They are usually email harvesters (oh wait I am harvest but anyways) just set up a "decoy" email and fill out all hte offers with it. I call it a spam email personally. But it works really well if you don't want to spend money. You can do surveys, buy products super cheap (plus they give you in game money) its a really easy and fun system.

I was thinkin about signing up for netflix anyway, so it's good to be aware of extra opportunities like this, but of course my primary source of gran will come from real $$

If this is successful and Alteil income increases, will it have a positive impact on the CPC ratio? Or any impact at all. If the answerto either of those questions is no, then I have more questions that would probably be left unanswered.

Being a paying player, this has no impact on me at all. My blatant mistrust of all things internet advertising also tells me to not touch it. I do apologise for the negativity of this post, but my in-game concerns of late severely outweigh the potential positive outcomes of this latest news.
