timing of grims

Postby AshenPlanet » Mon Oct 27, 2008 8:12 pm

On the timing of grims, is it totally random which grim goes first?

eg. I've cast life conversion a few times to try to save a creature when i suspected that my opponent was going to try to blast it.
Against the white 5 cost, and the red 5 cost grims, the life conversion happened after, and saved the unit - this happened twice.
Against the red 3 cost, the life conversion happened before, and was completely wasted - this also happened twice.

It may have just been blind luck (good or bad) that those timings happened the way they did.
It's hard to test though...
I was wondering if the higher cost grims always go before the lower cost ones.
If they do, I'll replace the life conversion with a flesh recycle, which is less functionally useful, but if it's gauranteed to go off after, it might be worth it...

Nope, totally random. Just like open skills (which Grims happen to essentially be an open skill without the unit attached).

Ah, then I'll have to find some other way to deal with grims...

Thanx for the info.

in my experience, healing grimoires go last before blasters (i play refess)
i've had units go negative health, but instead of flipping over
they wait for me to use my healing grim and they jz heal back up
My goal is not to win, but to have fun.
But since winning is fun, I can't help but to make winning my goal.

Bear killing axe-man was meant to be what it's name suggests - a killer unit. Sadly, there were no bears to kill in Alteil.

That's all been lucky on your part.

I've had healing grims go before blasts as often as they go after. It's a 50/50 coin toss on grim activation order.

after playing with some grimores

2 out of 2 times i played Cure - It went BEFORE fire arrow...

Cure also went before the Fire Tornado
Flesh Recycle also went before Fire Tornado...

I haven't seen cure go after yet....

In either case, cards don't flip until all the open skills are resolved.

But his point was that his cure was wasted, since it went before.

As long as cure went before, the monster still dies.

But if it went after, it will be saved. Just all up to luck.
