Temporary/Pernament Buffs/Debuffs

Heh I remember bringing up that trick during the non-character tourney. Used undine on blade wyvern then having it switch with high agi undead to massive return undeads using levi.
Anyways, another one of those cool perm/temp stat skills is belphagor's beyond help. It is interesting that it makes the current attack permanent, not just give +50 perm attack as one start. (It is also interesting to know that he is a start skill, different from the rest' auto skills. That means that he is weak to emana but can be combo'd with pixy greatsword) Anyways, so a good combo with belphagor (and perhaps other units on the field) would be heierrat field commander ss. That ss focuses belphagor and gives it 20 attack/2 agi boost. So when belphagor makes the attack permanent, it will be 50 rather than 70. Next turn, if eskatia or whatever is still on the field, he'll have 120 attack. Very nice way to boost up attack quickly and make sure you get those one shot kos.

Wait wut? I almost used it but that +2agi can cause an agility coin flip with eskatia.

If Eskatia is on the field, here are two possibilities:

Belphagor has 0atk
SS goes off giving it + 20atk/+2agi and focus
Eskatia turns it to night
Belphagor gets +50atk (currently 70atk)
Belphagor retains it, now permanently 70atk
Next turn
Eskatia turns it to night
Belphagor gets +50atk (currently 70atk)

BUT this can happen

Belphagor has 0atk
SS goes off giving it +20atk/+2agi and focus
Belphagor start goes first but doesn't do anything because it's not nighttime
Eskatia turns it to night.

Pixy Greatsword can be a good choice but it sucks if Belphagor is not on the field in any way.

After using him for a bit, I decided the best start is play Belphagor turn 3 to get that noon focus while something tanks for it (like skeleton warrior).
Another way is to use Prayer for Safety and the atk just climbs, 150atk was all I needed but when Eskatia was taken out, I didn't really care since it was still 100atk.

But belphagor makes temp buffs permanent if focused. That's the whole point of the combo.
