BackLash of Character cards and Ex Character cards?

As the title says. Does the regular character cards backlash with the EX character cards? Because I tried putting 3 character cards with its EX counter parts in a deck and it worked.

EX primrose and primrose for example are viewed as diffrent cards.

Alteil is pretty much well balanced. Sometimes you loose and sometimes the enemy wins.

I think it is because it is them in a different part of their lives, for instance EX:Primrose is a higher level which seems to suggest that she has gained power since her first incarnation appeared. Could also be going for a slightly alternate reality version of the character, like how gambit in X-men is pretty strong but in an alternate universe he supercharged the matter of an entire planet to destroy it. I would like to see a gm response to how having EX and normal out in play works flavor wise though.

That's pretty much exactly how I explained it when EX Cards first came out, Marvel Universe reference and all.
