Advanced Rules Discussion
It seems weird just because you're thinking of buffs as being dependent on having a 'living' target, and revives as bringing back the same unit. The way things are set up mechanically, there's usually just an unwritten condition on what you can target with buffs which is that the unit(s) must be open and revives are actually resummoning anew the unit you target instead of actually flipping the closed unit.

But that's how it is, there's no other way to explain the level dealio. It's just when you flip it back over, it starts over fresh. Apparently bringing back someone to life is a way of breathing a new body into them at the same time according to this game's logic.

When a card is revived, it resets all its stats back to normal.
As long as its not revived yet, all its stats remains 'changed' if at all any of its stats are changed, yes, even while faced down.
