subtract 40 directly from max hp

well is it the same as a unit gets max hp - 40 like the sergis ss?

cuz that one time i fought this guy n he used that 2 lp ss on my mercenary then another ss activated n it was that all enemy units gets max hp -20 then my merc died. that time i wasnt really paying attention so just wonderin, is it the same?

It should be the same. If it says "Subtract X directly from the HP of..." then it's DF ignoring damage, much like some of the new EX cards SS, but if it says "Subtract X from units MAX HP" then it should act like Sergis SS, in the sense that it lowers that actual stat and doesn't technically do damage.

I've been wondering, if a unit's MAX HP is =>0 (equal to or below 0), does it die?

Max HP can't go below 0, but yes it dies. In the case of cards like undead, one card will first get sent to the cemetery and then it closes. With lycans, if it's during night time 1 SP will get used up and then they close.

Yes.
And less than is the crocodile eating the zero.

Basically, they get revived at the cost of 1 copy and 1 SP, and then they still have 0 HP, so they close.
