Assertion:
Star Dragon is outdated

Points for:
- No reliable consistent pinpoint damage
- Increased amounts of removal each new set
- Unreliable removal protection
- More and more "Unkillable" units are being released

Point against:
- Some removal protection has been introduced, although it's mostly redundant (Song for a Hero, Blessing Errata), and incomplete (Does not address things like Mystere, Dion, Shelby SS combo, Catira, etc etc etc.)

Comments:
The way the file is set up causes the file to be binary in the extreme. Although Star dragon is a great unit with tons of damage potential, the fact that it level seven and drains Sphere levels causes it to be extreme SP consuming. The SP drain makes it hard to field other good units, and the fact that there are many types of removal further taxes the player's resources. The high level makes it hard to play Star dragon in the first place. Playing requires you to build your file around him, or you will not be able to get the best out of him.

This is also in addition to the fact that more and more cards have "Unkillable" traits now. The greatest offender in my opinion is Dilate. Star dragon's Counter only does 45 damage max. With 60 HP, a single star dragon will never be able to kill Dilate. Meanwhile, dilate is free to kill Star dragon.

On the other hard, if the player manages to keep Star dragon on the field and keep him there, it is likely he will win. He can potentially deal tons of damage each turn, and has 120 hp.

Starmander is just a file that's good for bullying rush files basically it. It doesn't do so hot when opponent's file wants a long battle instead of short one. About dilates, there's nothing you can do about dilates really except pack 3 hand of gods and 3 hand of judgements.

But starmander also have that star dragon's physical attack of 50. So it possibly can do max of 45 dmg to 2 units then 50 to one.

Or accept that starmander is just a old file a relic of the days where there used to be lvl 3 rush files everywhere and move onto bastandora. Bastandora or holy true retear is probably your best bet if you want a big refess file.

And there was actually a period o the time where Starmanders and big refess files used to be farmed by shrine knights. But then they learned about that high lvl revive grimiore thingie then shrine knights stopped farming big refess files combind with hand of gods which kills any high atk knights on field oh well it was fun while it lasted.

Play that StarDragon and move on. Be wise not to spend rediciouless amounts of SP keeping Refess lvls at 9. Beltorats provide enough firepower to cover the loss of dmg from his counter.

Only thing outdated is the old style of Starmander, rushing Star Dragon and repeat spam of Salamander is not as good as new ways to play.
