Just because you have a salamander if your file, does NOT mean you use it 100% of your games. You just play it when you need to when you would otherwise lose so that you can win.

Back to the topic, I tried to go Shield -> Girl Sorc -> Shufas/Spear -> Transformation
It is better than Girl -> Spear[human] because Shield can take some damge/ free revive and Girl sorc has a few chance of engaging some unit.
If Girl sorc got killed T2 by SS, than shufas would take her place.
After that, taking field control with spear[human]/Metia with stalking SS.
It works ok so far, but I only tried that with my alt in Crest.
Problems might be 2nd shade or t2 sala? Any thoughts or input on that? I would like to make it a Folrartable file

*sigh, somehow this alt I don't play actually have lots of cards I need for my main, not to mention it also won most of the GC cards...
Isn't it great to have all 3* below mermaids at Lv 10?
Ah... Everything's about MONEY, now that makes much more sense...

My open for my lvl3 rush mermaid file is:

Cath -> new Emana -> Shield Soldier -> Owl Sage(if Cath is still alive)
if not
Shufas

then I play Mermaid Soldier Human or Aquamancer it all depends on the opponents file.

if opponents starts with Shade I play the standard Cath -> Owl open

Hmm, I don't have new Emana, but I think it would be a great help to the file, no doubt. (Cuz the power of Emana alone?)

But my file is oriented to push out Metia on field early with enough mermaids in cemetery,
which is the reason why I choose not to go Cath, sage nor Emana.
Ah... Everything's about MONEY, now that makes much more sense...

two different files here, one is a level 3 mermaid rush without Metia (hence why I personally want the girl sorceress back because she helps level 3 mermaids a fair bit imo), your file uses Metia which is a different strategy all together
Self proclaimed user of weirdness, one of the few crazy people to actually use a pure sorceress file...

This is the lvl 4 Metia / Shufas Mermaid I am using, with buffed mermaids.
I believe lvl 3 merms with Emana has more potential in RP. But this one are mostly things from faction pack.

Open: Sheild -> Girl sorc -> Shufas/Spear fighter -> Merm trans -> Metia(if shield or girl sorc died)
Girl sorc get to engage other sides lv1, 2 unit sometimes and prevent it from triggering SS

Any suggestions? I would like to make mermaids without Emena more playable.
Problem facing: Running out of Shufas = not enough tanking and Running out of Metia

I think that Shufas doesn't really fit into the same file with Metia. You have a buffer in form of Metia so there is no need to add Shufas+Mermaid Transformations. Yes Shufas is great to deal with bigs with Metia buff around 75+ dmg. But it would be better just to add 3 Sorcerer Monks instead and more return grims for the mermaids Transformations. Or you could use just 3 Spear Fighters and 3 Mermaid Soldiers Human. I would remove the lvl2 free revive it is not that good with Metia mermaids.

The place I see the lvl2 shield soldier is with Emana lvl3 Mermaids and in a Deep Ones file. In the Deep Ones file you can use it as open to drop fast without any lose mermaids into grave then you can continue to spam Deep Ones. And of course I would use Mermaid Sorc in that file to combo with Sheicas start skill.
