After lots of chaos she entered the land, transformed into a human, where she encountered a battered human-sized fairy Torte. She "rescued" Torte and Torte swore to protect her with her life.
She saw the chaos on the land and decided that it's not right for the mermaids to stay out and armed herself to join Verlaat.
She's later seen to be still traveling with Torte.
Quite a brave young lady.
She is brave. Though I fear she may die. She is based off the Little Mermaid, who ended up dying in the original story.
