Your Favorite Card Art and Why

Postby Artist » Wed Dec 16, 2009 1:31 am

One thing that attracted all of us to Alteil must've been its awesome card arts. In this thread, let's share what your favorite card art is and why. I guess I just really like art lol.

My favorite art is Time Reader Lavende.

The reason is that it's a very nicely done piece. The overall composition is very balanced and the mood is coherent and very fitting. The technique of drawing looks like a lot of work has been spent in it (as opposed to something like Yuni). Lastly, the character herself is draw very beautifully. Her facial expressions and the flow of her hair all so wonderful.

Well anyways, enough about me, what are some of your favorites?

I agree that alteil has very good art,

one of my favorites is Gun Princess' Sword / Mizalio

My reasoning is I like his angle, its kinda like he just beat you in a barfight, plus the coloring is cool, how he is duller the farther away, up to the background being shades of brown.

It looks like it took some time, I may not be not be as technical as artist gets, but I do enjoy art.

I think i like the Veteran Swordswoman the most:

It's very stylish, even more stylish than afel! Actually it's hard to decide on which of the two is better, but i just picked this one.

And the honorary mention award goes to the ... Alien Abduction Card!!

Alteil is pretty much well balanced. Sometimes you loose and sometimes the enemy wins.

Bit hard to pick, and there's probably another that I prefer but for now, I'll go with this one.

Hirooka Masaki is probably my favorite Alteil artist, and Phimilliar is a fine example of his art style. It has the feeling that everything in the image could just melt together, and those folds look incredible. Granted, her right foot looks like it's off a bit, but you can't argue with that impishly cute face.

Hilarious! It IS her right foot, but connected to her left leg! Great spot!

Actually it is her right foot that is totally anatomically impossible. AnnaTheRed can attest to it from when she did her Halloween cosplay of that card that human legs cannot be posed in that position

First look at her mutant face and then say why her right leg is abnormal for someone like that.

A little bit off-topic, but I thought the ad with that card in it was hilarious. ("She is actually in the game, my lord.")

Linked that one to some of my friends, some free advertising for you guys. ;th2
I really want to recommend this game to friends. I would feel much better about doing that if things were less expensive, like tens of dollars to get most of a set, instead of hundreds!
