Outlandish Cards

Postby Grain » Fri Aug 08, 2008 5:29 am

I'd like everyone's opinion on the artwork of this card:

It left me speechless.

Since I'm already speechless, I can't imagine the horror I'd feel as a soldier being attacked by that.... whatever it is.

It's a Coatl. Probably inspired by the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl.

What other interesting artwork has appeared on Japanese-only cards?

This is quite possibly the most interesting one because it requires you to have SP in all other colors besides Lawtia.

If your suggesting the colors next to the SP represent spheres, they don't. every color corresponds with a particular type of skill. Red = Action, Purple = Soul, etc... Just trying to clarify, with the current American card set, no card requires SP from another sphere, unlike Magic.

Now as I don't know Japanese, you may have translated something I cannot read and all of this could be moot.

here is a rough translation using google:

Players [Cemetery] [card] in three randomly selected from the annihilation] up.
Light of resentment

Select a body of enemy units from the Damage: 15 + players on the influence: RIFESU] × 5].
Distortion of the Earth

This self-turn between [AT +: Player of the influence: GOUEN] × 5].
Ozora to嫉み

[RNG2 or more, the enemy unit to the Damage: Players on the influence: Fall cow] × 10].
Deputy of the soul

Players on the influence: RIFESU then increase.

gouen= gowen ;a40
rifesu = refess ;a41
fall cow = falcow ;a38 [i think ''fall cow'' was a **** up on googles side.]

What do you mean by "spheres?" Regular spheres? What could a normal sphere laying around do? :lol:

From context, I've assumed that "Sphere of Influence" means that putting soul power into a certain sphere is like tapping into the power of one of the four gods (or perhaps submissing to their will). Seeing as the gods couldn't defeat Batora individually, it would make sense for certain cards require more than one influence.

Refess gets some weird stuff... we have Cassowary King (looks like some kind of chicken or fox), and a Dog Emperor. I've seen some Japanese Refess cards that are even stranger...
