I finally got a copy of Ikaruga, love the game!

Ooooh, good choice. I've been toying with the idea of downloading it via XBL. Maybe when I'm done with Braid. ^^

I actually ended up hating Ikaruga. Which is weird, because I like "bullet hell" shooters, but the black/white concept didn't do it for me.

Current game list: Dokapon Kingdom/Journey, ExciteBots, Big Bang Mini, The Dark Spire, SSB:Brawl, Alteil, SimRTK (Version 5, first turn ends this week)

Picking up Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor later this month, and I have plans to import Blood of Bahamut in August if a US release date isn't announced by then.

I actually ended up hating Ikaruga. Which is weird, because I like "bullet hell" shooters, but the black/white concept didn't do it for me.

The term "bullet hell" made me smile so now it's part of my vocabulary. Sure beats plain ol' "shooter".

I adore the black/white concept. It breaks my brain a little to swirve into bullets on purpose, so it earns an automatic point or two for not being too samey.

My only real problem with Ikaruga is that the walls and obstacles on the stages will trap and kill you if you haven't previously memorized the proper path through them. It's extremely frustrating to have little to no problem with the enemies and still lose because I chose the left path instead of the right path only to find that it doesn't actually go anywhere.

This black and white concept reminds me of something completely different: a nice little set of puzzles called 'shift'. Give them a try !
