Ahh...the good times back then. xD I liked the game back then when it only had the 150 pokemon. I had the best water deck ever!

Heh, i must agree, season 1 and johto league pokemon were the best, they should've ended the series shortly after that, and continue to improve the TCG with new versions of existing pokemon (maybe introduce new evolutions or something)
I loved my psychic deck with Alakazam as the strongest card. Used to play in official leagues in my country - loved those times. I still play just for fun with a buddy of mine from time to time, but i'd love it if it regained popularity somehow, i'd sign up for a referee in the league. :]

I still remember the deck combos @_@ they were fun

Alakazam + chancey + snorlax + pokemon center
move damage counters all onto chancey and snorlax, while your healthy pokemon battles up front, then use pokemon center to remove all damage counters on chancey and snorlax.

Charizard + Venasaur + all grass energy
Venasaur moves energy to where it needs it, build up to a charizard and let him release all those grass energy with 100DMG attacks =D

Raindance
Squirtle + pokemon breeder + blastoise with a pure water deck (Lapras, etc)
Blastoise water energy spammage everywhere.

Haymaker
Hitmonchan + Electabuzz + Scyther
Gogogo beatdown!

very very olddddd school decks @_@

One of my favorite combos:

4 charmanders, 2 charmelians, 1 charizard
2 machops
4 growlithes, 2 arcanines
lots of fire energy, a couple double colorless, and a couple fighting energy (around 20 energies altogether)

4 professor oaks
4 energy removals
as many super energy removals as is legal (still 4, or is there a limit?)
Maybe some potions or computer searches

Haven't played this since the first set. :P Brings back memories.

Ah yes, those were the days. I had fun with the game, making decks purely to be annoying. They ended up working a little too good, so I ran out of people to play with. (The decks were Poison, Mega Energy Removal, and Psychic, with the last specializing in Sabrina's Alakazam and a promo Mewtwo, give them a ridiculous repertoire of attacks.)
