South park is fantastic because the creators had 1 good idea that is always timely. All they do is point out when people are being stupid. They don't have any particular political objective. It's not family guy that survives on random pop culture references. Even scrubs had to end eventually. The main cast just didn't work as well as serious adult professionals. Once they got too old it didn't make sense any more. It also does not have a "cult" following it is still one of, if not the highest viewed shows on comedy central. Also southparkstudios.com is legal. It's their official site. It really is amazing that they can still be just as relevant today as they where like 12 years ago when it was brand new.
Also side note, there are soap operas in the US that have been on since way before 1985. All my children started in 1970, General Hospital has been on since 1963 and as the world tuns has been on air, on stop since 1956. Guiding light, which ended last year started in 19 freaking 37! It was actually a radio drama that became a tv show in 52. Thank you wikipedia.
