A 21 year old college student.

I hear he's from Spain.

He'll be living with my family to learn spoken English.

Nobody in my family speaks Spanish fluently. There may be a problem.

My mother took a course.

The neighbor kid speaks Spanish. I may be able to use him.

I hope it goes well.

Also, if you fancy adding a little Spanish to your Soul Skill set, there's an excellent spoken language series called Pimsleur on CD/audiocassete; I believe they're online, but I rent mine for free from the public library. The system's designed to help you learn quickly and easily, and they have both Short Courses and Complete Ones so you can learn as little or as much as you like; though I'm betting just a little could help bridge the gap w/ a student who already knows some English.
