Rewards For Losing

While the winners get richer & richer, should losers get a bit of gran too?

Should they get any?

Welfare epics! But anyway, the amount of gran most people get each week through winning isn't that high. Say 3 wins a day and 1 loss, (optimistic here) you'll end up with 38 gran a week from wins through the point system, am i correct?

3 wins = 6 points
1 loss = - 1point
---------------
5 points.

Multiply by 7 days you get 35 points (close, but not quite).

Neah. Rather increase FM. The point of losing is to show you are not good enough and you need more cards or a better strategy, why would it reward you? It would defeat the reason to buy gran.

Could also increase xp when you lose to someone with higher level / RP, because you are suposed to learn from him something, right?
Maybe 3-4 more xp wont hurt?

Personally, I'd like it if losses didn't give -1 point. Sure, you could argue that in the rankings, someone who won 15 games and lost 0 times ought to be higher than someone who won 15 games and lost 3 times, but I find myself discouraged from playing because I usually have a 1 win-2 losses average meaning I get absolutely nowhere in terms of weekly gran.

Occasionally, I convince myself that since I don't get negative gran from that week, I might as well continue playing to improve my strategy (and people who don't have a negative total get two extra gran each time they beat me down, so somebody's happy) but that wouldn't change if losses gave 0.

Joke solution: There should be a "loser's streak" which gives you increasingly large amounts of gran the more you go without a win.

From the topic "Question about Rating Points"

http://www.alteil.com/forum/index.php?f ... c&start=20

Your weekly Gran gain is:

1. You must have at least 1 battle during the week to get ANY Gran.
2. Weekly: Each win (2) + Each draw (1) - Each loss (1) = X
3. If X is equal to/less than 10, then you get 10 Gran.
4. If X is more than 10, then you get X Gran.

So if your total is 1-10, you get 10 Gran.
If your total is above 10, then you get that number in Gran.

So even people on losing streaks will get 10 Gran for the week. If they don't play Mirage Master... it will take them 15 weeks to get a booster pack. (150 Gran)

Oh. Huh. I knew that everyone would get 10 weekly gran, but I didn't know that RP gran replaces it. I figured it was in addition to the weekly 10. What I meant by 'get absolutely nowhere' was that I gain nothing past the base 10 despite playing more, which means my advancement relative to others is slower. My point still stands that it doesn't give much reason to keep playing when on a losing streak.

i agree with azul, 0 for a lose should be better
if i get 6 wins and 1 lose i get 11 gran
7 wins and 3 lose = 11 gran
and from there on why should i keep playing and risk losing even that 1 extra gran? :(

the point is to take the risks to gain more gran. if you won't want to take the gran then be happy with your 10. People want something for nothing these days....

You don't know what you are talking about.
The point is the risk is to high for just 1-2 more gran.
If i usualy get only 10 then why should i risk getting less than 11 when i have the chance? The chance of getting 12 gran in that case is so much lower, so when you have the chance to get 11 you take it!

And i really wonder why you posted that ...
If a player gets something like 15 0 or 15 3( like in the example someone gave earlier ) then most likely he stops playing for the rest of the week only to make sure he dosn't lose the chance to get the extra gran. This is a fact, accept it and stop arguing.
