Owl Sage, Kesaran Pasaran, and SP generation

It's not exactly a secret that Owl Sage is extremely powerful, staple to all Falkow files (except Mid-Falkow), and an all-around jerk.

It's also not a secret that Kesaran Pasaran is a perennial UD member and relegated to silly gimmick opens. Unless the opponent opens Cath or skips it's just a dumb sacrifice unit that doesn't do anything.

It's always been a personal theory of mine that the huge gap between these two cards is a large reason why Falkow is so dominant over Refess. It's not only that Falkow can disrupt whatever synergy is attempting to go on with Returns, but the fact that Owl Sage means in reality Return isn't SP Neutral at all. Owl Sage allows you to keep returning, while Refess doesn't have a similar option that allows it to keep playing units. I think if the gap between these cards was somewhat closed the matchup between these two spheres would be less tragic.

So how would you all go about doing that? By making KP better? By making Owl Sage worse? Perhaps even both?

They already nerfed owl sage. He has a range of 1 now. In fact we should nerf KP as in a 1v1 he'd kill owl sage every time, while having more range to boot

But yeah, owl sage is a lot better than KP due to the skill requiring less on hand sp as well as falkow having returns to better ensure it's survival. Would be good if the skills got balanced out.

Change the KP's sp gen skill requireing from 2 for 3 to 1 for 2 would be nice.

If you want to be an unproductive little whinebag setting up straw men rather than having any real discussion, that's your prerogative I guess.

KP is indefensibly awful at what it does, and what it does is allegedly something Refess is supposed to be good at.

Owl Sage is the best card in the game at what it does, in a sphere that not counting the multisphere in all but name Antilla and Marduk, only has Cath and Plundering Girl Pirate as cards that generate SP that are not part of a cycle. If Meaning of Failure didn't have a chance to get 5SP there would literally be no precedent at all for Falkow being even passably good at generating SP. Owl Sage is on a flavor island and the only reason it gets away with it is because it's so old.

Lawtia needs to have SP gen on par with falkow, and gowen needs to have sp drain on par with lawtia. Then we can have fair fights.

My favorite sphere is lawtia. I just wish crest orderly was as good as KP.
