Situational cards can be justified if it plugs a glaringly common weakness in your file.

Not all files are meant to be consistent. Some people like just playing a certain way with situational units. There's nothing wrong with that.

REALLY?

Wasn't it you, Gon, who made it clear that one does not simply play Alteil the way one wants to play?

Make up your mind.

I never said that. Other people just put words in my mouth. I think there are objectively better and worse ways to play specific files or spheres, but by no means should people have to play that way.

There's also another issue that try as you may, you actually can't make a single file that won't get turned on its head by some other meta. Even prenerf Dilate/Ruuca had 1-9 matches vs. EN and WK and a fairly bad one vs. pixies also.

It really would be nice to have a file that has a bunch of 5.5/4.5 and 6/4 matches with a few 4/6s to compensate, at which point player skill can carry it the rest of the way.

Having games decided before they begin isn't fun.

Very true. Easier said than done though. Balancing match-ups this well is EXTREMELY hard and takes an absurd amount of time.

I agree this task would be difficult indeed. I am convinced it is above your current ability. I don't need to explain why. It is for this reason I would absolutely love to hear of some changes to the testing team. Personally, I'd love to see a more professional approach.

"It's too hard" is not an acceptable answer in my book - you would have been better to simply remain silent on that one.
