Compare "hero strike's"&"Split second decision",Its unfair!!

Postby xj654m3x » Tue Dec 18, 2012 4:49 am

hi, guys~~I want to discuss this two cards:"hero strike's" & "Split second decision", although they are not a common using cards.

they are all LV3, and contain "Do [damage: chosen unit's AT] to target enemy unit".

BUT why lawtia needs to engage that friendly unit with same cost ?

I think lower level or adding other effect on "Split second decision" will be more balance.

What do you guys think? (I know~~~this two cards are unimportant~~~T_T)

Say no to power creep. XD
Nah... those card are fine.

Based on what I saw, those grim is used for different purpose.
Like Icy has pointed out, it's used to attacking enemy while avoiding removal SS at the same time.
It's actually Refess Hero Strike and Charity in single card.

I do and it actually won me some game.
Useful when you
1. only have space for 1 dmg grim
2. units have high atks
3. dodge assassin
4. you hate pure terror's target limitation

It is hard to compare cards like this between spheres,
for example, some might think Recovery powder is unfair compare to Rapid growth
but then we won't need 4 spheres if the cards are the same.
Ah... Everything's about MONEY, now that makes much more sense...

very simple answer: lawtia is not gowen
1. If lawtia gets the attack power of gowen It gets overpowered. Lawtia posess already a pletora of resource drain mechanisms. resource drain mechanisms together with the attack power/ tanking power of gowen would be retarded
2.like it was pointed out here already split decision protects from sin so arguable that self engage is a strengh
3. stopp comparing singe cards from different spheres. You need to catch cards in context of the spheres and the decks/cards they can be used with + the opponents decks. You cannot make balance conversations on single card level without introducing a context.

the "engage" clause of split second decision is quite important imho... in big lawtia is a Zu-saver from sin or any "disengaged" removal...

As some of you may have already observed, Overdose has powercreeped most other cards in the most successful big lawt files. Cards like Split Second Decision and Sacrifice will likely never be used again.

Overdose is not powercreep.

Fact is split second decision is a bit too expensive. You will probably use it in zu decks or maybe some of you will use it in another deck too, but imagine you bump into a nice song sorc SS. So not only have you spent 3 SP, but also loose your zu.

Overdose solves this issue. It costs just 2 SP and helps you vs the many removal SS out there. Not only that but if you get lucky you can kill that silly guardian or other tank that can survive the 65 damage value.

~~~~~
The way i see it:
- heroe's strike is meant for lower level decks, mainly SK perhaps
- split second decision was meant for bigger decks, but it's too costly for those, 2 SP would be fine, i rather get a shear winds in my deck and let zu die and then resummon. IT'S FAR FAR FAR BETTER!
But then if you reduce the cost to two, then you have to also reduce cost of soul bind or whatever the name of the level 2 engage spell is ...
It would be best if split second decision was like order to sortie without the level restriction and if order to sortie recevied a different skill. I mean order to sortie really sux! T_T
That is really useless grim, since the split second decision at least has some use.
