message notification ?

I guess such a feature would require quite some work, however what about receiving a notification, say in MM or even during a game, letting you know you received a message since you logged on?
It's very frustrating to ask a friend for a match, be 3 minutes late, see him in Mirage Master and being unable to say that you're waiting...

Or should I challenge friends that are not playing MM and are bearing with me being late?
