Phantoms

Postby Phenoca » Fri Nov 06, 2009 7:43 pm

I just remembered something.

TheFarWilds.

Why did I remember it?

Because I considered, for the first time, of donating for the sole-purpose of purchasing a box.

Although this is a possibility, I would much rather see what TheFarWilds has, in order to replace current "weekly gran".

Phantom Cards

- When winning a duel, you receive a Phantom Card.
- Your Phantom Card disappears after four weeks (when Rankings are updated).
- You do not win weekly gran for playing in Folrart.

Phantom Cards can be recycled for 1 gran. You gain one gran when your Phantom Card disappears automatically.
Phantom Cards increase in rarity when your win streak is high.

Since weekly gran is removed, you do not lose gran for losing (one of (if not the last of) my few remaining pet peeves).

I feel that this would help to advertise new sets, if Phantom Cards had a higher probability of being part of the newest Set.

Summary: Instead of weekly gran, players get one Phantom per win in Folrart.
Phantoms can be recycled for 1 gran.
Phantoms are automatically recycled after 4 weeks.
Increase in file-diversity.
Players who play a lot have more cards to tinker with.

Ideally, Phantoms would only give copies of units which you did not already have triples of.

Phantoms only consist of units (no grimoires)!

Feedback?

P.S. The reason I mention TheFarWilds is not to advertise, but to give credit to the source where I learned of Phantom Cards.

Interesting Idea, but if I had to guess. Programming nightmare.

I'm sensing this is going to get quite a bit of disapproval. It would suck to have your file fall apart from losing a key unit - remember, the majority plays to win and not to tinker with files. Sadly enough.

Regardless, interesting idea.
