Help me remember a video game/title

please remind me of the title.

Sony PlayStation
the game doesn't really have a notable story line
a player will have to choose a character or character class, there is a lot of choices (cant remember exactly but...) ranges from soldier, wizard, priest, archer, thief, elf, dwarf (please note elf and dwarf class, kinda unique for the game to make this as "class")...etc (maybe ten or twelve to choose from).
you name your character, cute(or whatever you may call them stubby little guys) 3d graphics, then your off, character would have a few set of skills, goes on an adventure kinda jumps around, the further you travel the stronger the monsters,(bees, crabs <-specifically i remember those crabs, walking plants maybe), occasionally finds loots that can be equipped only to other class (then i ask my brother, "you have a save file of this class?want it?") and so on,
multi-player possible, kinda have some sort of quests too,
i didn't really finish the game,so i cant tell you what happens if you got high level, i was a lazy kid( and i don't really think kids like me would understand that much), i only want to start a character,delete it create a new one...

i wanna play the game now, maybe i can finish it or reach further than what i did in it before.

You could try googling ps1 (You do mean ps1 right?) mmorpg or something and see if any names ring a bell.

Had several level 100ish characters before I stopped playing. Fun times.

P.S. Put everything in luck at the start. Luck determines stat growth and luck never grows. Obvious choice is obvious.

yup this is it, thanks exemplar,
i've been researching the net and it always leads me to Dragon Quest, kinda makes me think dragon quest ripped off some ideas.

now where to find a rom,(i kinda owe the game once so i can download right?, and nobody cares right?)
