Having fun on this right now. There's pve, actually fairly heavy pve that's challenging. You can do quests for items and cash points, you fight dungeons to get mats to create new cards as well. There's an event going on right now where you can get a free card a day and 1000 GP as well. You also don't need 3 copies of a card to play it. You can even make your character cards mine for mats and train your unit cards.
