Mermaids don't exist in reality.
One Piece has actual Mermen. (Japanese have the equivalent of Ningyo, which additionally appear in one piece and many more anime, actually)
Not sure whether you are referring to Aquaman or the mermen he meets, because he certainly isn't one.

Those are the mentioned Ningyo. What I meant was actually, meet King Neptune:

Aquaman. Merdude. Not part fish, the thing you just objected to.

Ahh... good old mer-men. In this modern world of equality its hard to imagine a world where only mermaids exist... oh wait... that is this world!! We already live in it!!

Mermaids were a mythological story created by sailors about half women half fish creatures that were reportedly beautiful and had a thing for luring sailors to their deaths. Mermen never existed in folk lore, they never existed in fairy tales, cos they never existed in the fearful minds of men at sea. Sailors at sea for as long as they were simply had no attraction to another man's bum (maybe they were already getting some, who knows?) and so were not threatened by them.

Why should a card game invent a gender for a folk lore creature that itself only had one gender?

From what I can gather the actual stories of mermaids were based on dugongs, otherwise known as see cows.

I guess I am left wondering how you can debate mermen and the reality of them when they dont even fit into the stories that created mermaids to begin with.

Next, we can argue about the lack of incubi to balance out the succubi - at least incubi existed in lore...

You mean it's same as all the UFO stories that only include male like greys, but never female like greys.
