Hello there. My name is Worthing. I have played gowen rush on and off since I started playing alteil in set 3. I think that a low level (level 1-3) gowen file is strong for many reasons. Not convinced? Well of course not. Today's alteil meta requires specific and hard to get cards to be competitive so if you don't have a lot of early rare and EX cards you are at a disadvantage sadly. I mostly play gowen even today. I really like the way pixies function so I play them for the most part because they are fun, require critical thinking against quite a few files, they are competitive, and its always fun to use something no one else will because they think its meh.

The file I will be discussing in here is a gowen file that revolves around low level units that are all great and require little to no synergy to play (which is my favorite way to play alteil). I find flexible files the most fun because you have so many options on what to play and when I lose their is always something I could have done to win. Its a great way to get better and generally a low level flexible gowen file is great. Anyway here are my stats and file to make people stop reading this and go tl;dr.

Next lets go over the pros and cons on my file because it is an easy way to help new and even old players understand how it functions against certain match ups.

Pros:
Many options most of the time
Consistent file that can't be broken up by return if you play your units correctly
Does well against most other low level files
Beltia, yuni, and dullin can clear bigger units with ease
The pixies help lock out core cards that other files need to play asap to win (F U ANNAROSE)

Cons:
Mid refess can be a pain if they can keep yuni and beltia down
Takes a lot of games to play it well
Their isn't a good way to describe how to play it since the game is very diverse and this file is diverse as well

nuetral feeling:
Having 0 grims can be a problem but I basically treat my pixies, salamanders, and yunis as grims with field presence since they have effective open skills. Taking out the mage pixies or archer pixies to play a 3rd of the other pixy and 1 grim seems pretty risky since everyone likes to grim bane so its either multiple grims or none imo.

1. Gafc- Damage soul skills that target are key to get early field control in low level files like this. I could use asuet/distier for my first soul skill as well but with kurina/tiger as my open and not having big end game units I never need the extra sp to set up my field and find disrupting the enemies sp pool much better.

2.Gafc- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

3. Diondora- More targeting damage that disrupts the enemies field. The soul skill seems great in here because you usually have enough units on the field to destroy a few units and set your enemy back a turn or two if they revive units in the field slot they do not want it at. Against mid/big files that have units with 2+ range its pretty meh.

4. Rasam- Its just one of the best soul skills in the game and is almost never useless :/

5. Zandaglyan- Best 3lp soul skill in the game for low level files imo. Targeting damage although it gives your opponent 3sp. If you get this far into the game you probably would have lost anyway if you didn't have the 30 damage to target a unit if the 3sp helps them that is. Try it out if you have it maybe you will hate it, maybe you will like it.

3x Kurina- Level 2 with a free revive skill that has 4 agi and gives all units +10atk. This unit is great to play turn 1 and the free revive will let you set up better units. Always play it turn 1 on normal occasions because you need the free revive presence and she isn't much good mid game compared to other units. To be honest I use the 3rd kurina in my file about half the time. Letting her die to get a soul skill off earlier and having more sp is great in quite a few games.

Beltia- Pretty good unit at any point in the game when you have like 3 units in your cemetery. His start skill makes him have 30atk and 4agi with 50hp to boot. Pretty great stats for a level 2. His action skill lets him do atk x 3 (90) to a random unit in range if you have an undead unit in your cemetery (so beltia or dullin).

Dullin- One of the most underplayed units in the game. I blame his ex rarity and the lack of low level gowen files. He is just great in any gowen file that won't be exceeding sphere level 3 unless you have an end game unit that is big.

Yuni: Great unit to clear heavy defense units. All her skills are just great and make up for her bad stats. I also find a range 3 unit in any small file to be core. She is the most field reliant unit in the file by far so be careful and play her only when you can sustain other beefy units on the field.

Tiger- Similar to kurina but his action skill works well with the diondora soul skill. Play this guy on turn 2 most games.

Blitz Soldier- His open skill works well to keep dullin alive longer and you don't need the sphere level once dullin and yuni are on the field. His stats are great and the only drawback is his open skill but it won't hurt you most of the time. You have a lot of free sp some games so it really doesn't hurt putting him out before yuni. The fact that he cannot iczer attack makes ending games hard though. He is a beefy level 2 unit with 2 range so he fits well in the file since low level units aren't typically this big.

Salmander- One of my favorite cards. Great open skill and stats for a level 1. Pretty great to have a level one unit in most files. He lets you get into your early soul skills fast.

Mage pixy- Utility mostly. Pretty terrible stats but its main use is the open skill

Archer pixy- Same as mage pixy

I really can't tell you how to play the file other than play kurina-tiger-salamander-dullin in that order most games. You will have to play around with it (if you have the cards).

Final comment

I don't play bringer because I recycled mine plus I find him inferior in my file set up compared to the pixies I have
dullin can be replaced with forest rhino
yuni can be replaced with any good ranged level 3 unit I would say
If you replace dullin consider taking out blitz soldier

Add one or two replays and then your guide to the file will be perfect.

perhaps until the game is actually improved through change or perhaps forever since there are so damn many other games and better things to do @_@

I don't think people should worry about not having these specific cards so much, you can take some principles from his deck and make similar rushes with the cards you do have.

1. do rhino
2. still use belltia if you have 3
3. anything that does damage and has sp/field disruption. i havent seen you are know what level you are but if you are new the scylla soul skill isnt bad and you should have gotten it from your level up. uhhhhh sergis is ok. larut is a good soul. the soul skills that do 40 to 2 random units are better than sergis with gowen rush imo (seems strange but its true)

If you don't have Diondora use griffin/Fomuna/Amethysist Carbuncle maybe? I could have sworn there was another card with Diondoras SS. Griffin and Carbuncle moves enemy units like Dio do and Fomuna moves all opponents units randomly.

Good input. I would prefer raw damage over the field disruption though. If you can get damage and disruption as far as field or sp goes you should do that. Heck even a soul skill that does damage and buffs one of your units. Just make sure it is 1lp though, the file works very well with the first 4 SS being all 1lp

I'm having good success with this as I suppose I should. The only thing I don't like is the faeries that I'm not tending to use. So will be swapping them out for grims. Great file thanks for sharing.
