This is an outline of several files types within Falkow and the common cards found within it. These threads are essentially an updated version of Harvests threads. These aim to make it easier for newer players to see what works well together and hopefully allow them to make their own exciting files. I'd like to thank The Circle - Especially NitroDino, and Gadu who helped make the outlines and provided some links. I'd also like to thank everyone who gave their support in doing this. Special Thanks once again to harvest4god who inspired these threads. I will try to keep these updated.
Note that I am defining 'rush' files as Lv 1-3 files, Mids as files which use at least 1 Lv 4-6 unit and Bigs as files which usually use at least 1 Lv 7-9 unit for simplicity.

Low Level / Rush Files


Wizard Kingdom or WK
The underlying principle behind every effective wk file is to disrupt the sp flow of the game to minimise the growth and to break your opponents normal file flow. This file is not hard to make most cards are available in the prebuild The Kingdom Returns. They are many version of this file. Check out the guide for an overview of all variants.

Pinpoint WK (Wizard Kingdom)
This file aims to play a beat-down type of game by concentrating damage to certain units using Pinpoint/target attacks. Instead of returning the enemy units to achieve this, this file relies on field movement and Range Manipulation for defensive and offensive purposes. While currently not as good as Control (return)-based WK, this has the potential to be very powerful even in it's current form. Can be made using nearly only Set 12 cards.

Key Units:
Regus Combat Sorcerer ** - Buffs attack and range, also has a Pinpoint abilitiy that is range based.
Mage Knight Vanguard ** - 4 agi unit with pinpoint and an open skill which combos nicely with Regus Combat Sorcerer or unit with flying attack.
Flying Sorcerer of Regus * - Has teleport for an open skill. Can also return itself to the card file.

Common Cards:
Mermaid Soldier of Regus * - Can increase it's own range and AGI with it's pinpoint action skill. Also can be used to counter Open-damage.
Elite Mage Soldier ** - Powerful unit with a double flying attack for 1SP. Condition fairly easily obtained.
Mage Knight of Regus ** - One of the only pure WK subtype buffers. Also makes Mermaid soldier of Regus and Elite mage soldier meet their AGI conditions.
Wizard Princess / Ariete ***** - Can generate SP by sacrificing grimoires. Also makes the few grimoires you are using reusable (by bringing them back). Perm buffs agi for WK unit and also can raise grimoire Activations
Paladin Captain / Mirelia *** - Strange trait makes it unable to kill units without buffs/action skills, however allows for Soft-Pinpoint. Also has a Flying attack-type ability and a potentional Fieldwipe when sufficiently buffed, or when grimcount is high enough.
Black Cat / Fellana **** - A very good grimbaning unit who combos well with Ariete for raising grimoire activations.
Magic Scythe Soldier ** - Decent WK ranged unit with Pinpoint.
Eagle Soldier * - Average unit with Flying attack.
Strike Sorcerer of Regus ** - Fairly tank level 2 unit (by falkow standards) that can increase it's own range to 3. Combos nicely with Combat Sorcerer.
EX: Wizard Soldier of Regus EX - Free revive and a great standalone level 2 unit.
Sylph * - Raise agi of friendly unit for super attack buff when combat sorc is on the field, also allowing friendly unit to act first. Can also be used with removal soul skills to remove enemy units.
Owl Sage ** - To generate SP to feed your unit skills and act as bait.
Aquamantic Bubbles *** - To save you're units from killing yourself late in the game as the file has many sacrificial units.
Gigantic Illusion ** - To buff AT and DF for 1 turn at the cost of having no range. Range debuff can be negated by Flying attack/Combat Sorc
Celerity *** - Raise AGI of friendly WK units and permenantly gives one friendly unit +2 AGI
Deep Sleep * - To buy time/allow your units to kill something before getting killed.
Flanking Attack *** - To flip the opponent's board allowing you to pinpoint around their support units while forcing the opponent to move/sacrifice other units.
EX: Princess of Regus / Bernet EX - Provides range manipulation and can lock out opponent grimoires.

Mystere Control
The idea of this file is to build a field with EX Mystere, Mystere, Emana and an army of great spirits. This file uses heavy agi manipulation in form of Undine, Sylph and Emana. EX Mystere is the main damage dealer of the file and Mystere return anything that she can't kill, Emana's role is to have every turn an Undine open at start phase. A basic form of Mystere Control is the Falkow Starter

Key Units:
Aqua Sorcerer / Mystere *** - can return any unit for 2 SP
EX: Aqua Sorcerer / Mystere EX - the main damage dealer and can recycle friendly or enemy great spirits
Undine * - the best spirit for this file
Princess of the Key / Emana ***** - start skill helps both Mystere and she can revive normal Mystere or Spirits

Common Units:
Witch Queen / Catherina ***** - open unit
Mermaid Wizardess / Faytis *** - can return level 2 units, which can be used to return friendly great spirits and use the open again or enemy units
Sea Wyvern ** - similar use as Faytis
Jewel of the Deep Sea * - open unit

Deep Squid ** - For it's soul skill which works well with this type of file and with Eagle Soldier soul skill
Eagle Soldier * - For it's soul skill which sets 2 enemy units to AGI = 0 and engages one enemy unit.
Elemental Pillar / Oeste EX Use for open skill and also does decent damage when you play great spirits.

Diondora Control (Dion Control)
This is one of the most hated files to play agaist and is considered by some to be 'noob' however it does take a bit of skill to master. The idea behind this file is to use Diondora and returns to firstly act as bait for opponent grimoires creating a low sp environment. Then using Diondora to keep the opponent off the field while you Iczer attack the opponent relentlessly.

Princess of the Key / Emana ***** Sometimes used in place of elite fencer, sea hunter or even frog.
Elite Fencer of Regus ** Sometimes used as a second tank.
Deep Sleep * Sometimes useful, helps Diondora get her return off.
Time Stop ** Same as Deep Sleep.
Sea Hunter ** To tank
EX: Mermaid Soldier EX To tank
EX: Wizard Soldier of regus EX Free revive level 2 with decent stats, good tank.
Wrath of the Constellations *** Drains the sp stored by the opponent if they are going for bigs
Wrath of the Sea Lord *** Similar to return, but for level 4 units.

Soul Skills:
1. Mage Paladin / Distrier **** This slot depends on the player's play style and the meta.
2. Frost Sorceress / Rasam *** Engage and stall, exactly what Dion Control files want.
3. Frost Sorceress / Rasam *** Same as above, can hardly go wrong.
4. Sea and Wind / Bulerigid EX To return your file back to you after the opponent has wasted many turns thinning it down
5. Any 3LP anchor card will do.

Mid Files


Serpent or Sea Behemoths
The idea of this file is to use engage skills and grims to engage your opponent and then finish them off with Serpent. This file is easy to build because it doesn't require any rares to actually work. You can get most cards for it if you buy the Sea Behemoths prebuit.

Enormous Frog * - engages 1 enemy unit per turn
Frost Sorceress / Rasam *** - makes the file much much better
something to tank, best choice are probably one of the Sea Behemoths with DF because of Vosrot

Sea Claw * - tank, harder to return and has pinpoint
Giant Sea Hunter * - tank with charge (possible 100 dmg with Vosrot's start skill)
Crab General / Vosrot *** - open good to counter open damage and his start buffs your sea monster
Spell Analyst / Diondora **** - used to deal with things that can't be killed by Serpent
Witch Queen / Catherina ***** - for open
Deep Sleep * - for engaging
Sorcerer Monk of Regus ** - endgame
Mermaid Sorceress * - open is good for engaging lvl4 or higher enemy units
Storm Wizardess * - helps engaging annoying character meta files
Undine * - used to reduce the agi of Serpent, so he goes last and can atk engaged enemy units

Mid WK (Wizard Kingdom)
Another Variant of the Wizard Kingdom, this time concentrating on level 4 units. This variant aims to out-speed the enemy as well as hitting hard and accurate.

Regus Paladin / Ibert *** - Gains more AGI when there are more Wizard Kingdom units. Has a potentially powerful pinpoint lancer skill which is based on agi. His Low HP is his main weakness.
Elite Mage Soldier ** - Fairly aggressive wizard kingdom unit with the potential to use a double flying attack when at or above 6 agi.
Owl Sage ** - To generate SP to feed your unit skills and act as bait.
Mage Knight of Regus ** - One of the only pure WK subtype buffers. Also makes Mermaid soldier of Regus and Elite mage soldier meet their AGI conditions.
Regus Combat Sorcerer ** - Buffs attack and range, also has a Pinpoint abilitiy that is range based.
Flying Sorcerer of Regus * - Has teleport for an open skill. Can also return itself to the card file.
Silver Fencer / Ascarat *** - used to return copies of WK units.
Mage Knight Fencer / Ryu **** - Aggressive lvl 4 WK unit.
Guard Leader / Renally ***** - Arguably the best falkow tank. Also buffs the DF of the front line.

Pirates
The idea behind this file is to build up a field with Pirates and SP lock your opponent while generating SP for iczer attacking. Return grims are really important for this file to build up a field and to prevent your opponent from access to soul skills. Reia and Pirate Girl are used to SP lock your opponent. Pirate Crewman's role is to give a nice AT boost. The other variant commonly used is a dualsphere file, that uses refess cards like Guardian and Blessed Armor Knight, both are counter units that benefit from being hit by Dub Rido's auto skill. Pirates don't have high AT so they use Sorcerer Monk of Regus to deal with high DF or multiple removal SS like the Shelby + Song Sorcerers or Assassin SS.

Blessed Armor Knight * - similar role to Guardian, if he gets hit he removes from play a card from opponents grave and get DF

Metia Mermaids (Mermaids/Deep Ones)
The main goal of this file is to build a field of 2 or more mermaids and use Metia's start skill to buff them to really high AT and AGI. This file can be built without Metia by starting the file as with Mermaids and switching mid game to other Deep Ones. There are many possible versions of this file because of the high number of Mermaids-Deep Ones combos.

Sylph * - used as AGI boost on Spear Fighter Human for the double colum hit combo if you don't have slow mermaids
Carrier [Singer of Dreams] * - open can save Metia from 40 dmg SS and she can even recycle Metia or one other Deep One
EX: Mermaid Soldier EX Tank and can combine with Princess Emana for massive damage.

Mid Blue
This file doesn't really have a flow, most units in it are used to counter specific situations. For example Giant Manta is good against Undeads. Most of the cards for are available in the Take to the Sky prebuilt. This file is usually strong against rush files, it has some problems to deal with other mid/big files.

Owl Sage ** - for ss in the first spot, some version use it as open too

Blade Wyvern * - good damage dealer, needs a tank to work
Elite Mage Knight of Regus ** - grim immune tank, useful with Watersprout combo
Lightning Wyvern ** - open damage and can field wipe some rushes
Blue Dragon Mage / Mildoreo EX - used to counter rush files
Giant Manta Ray * - tank that is attack immune
Strike Wyvern ** - good open and useful to deal with enemy tanks sometimes
Bog Wyvern ** - endgame unit, double attacker
Frost Sorceress / Rasam *** - anti rush unit, can bypass defence too and usually used with Time Stops and with Elite Mage Knight
Mermaid Wizardess / Faytis *** - for return and SP advantage
Giant Ancient Tortoise * - tank with 20 def
Sea Wyvern ** - used to return undine, that is used in the Leviathan combo
Leviathan ** - main part of the Leviathan combo, used with Regus Patroller to raise it's AGI so it doesn't return itself, after that Undine is used to lower agi3 or higher enemy units agi to return them
Paladin of Sin / Durendal ***** - used as tank for bog wyvern endgame
Waterspout * - used to return big enemy units and with Elite Mage Knight alone on the field
Disjunction *** - for return
Elemental Pillar / Oeste EX Open can provide an advantage with Levi and Blade
Ocean Wyvern * - Open skill permanently buffs AGI and RNG, can use on Levi so it does not return itself. Also a powerful ranged unit.

Grim count (Mirelia Control)
Grimcount is played similarly to WK, minimise the opponent's growth through the use of well placed grimoires and unit drops (faytis). While your units swiftly take out opposing units with their (possibly) VERY high attack and higher then average agi. Grimcount can be considered the WK that can hit HARD

Ice Sorceress ** - used as soul skill in some versions
Carrier [Singer of Dreams] * - used as soul skill similar to Ice Sorceress, but she engages for 2 turns
Mermaid Wizardess / Faytis *** - for return and SP advantage
Refugee Flying Apprentice * - For raising grimcount and serving as a meatshield.
EX: Princess of Regus / Bernet EX - Provides some range manipulation and possible grimlocking. Also generates grimoire activates fairly quickly with a SP cost.
7th Successor / Ariande EX - Powerful range-based unit who can deal lots of damage to enemy columns or rows.

Big Files


Big Noze
This file is an offshoot from Big Blue and is often used as part of normal Big Blue. This will basically be based on a file dedicated to Big Noze herself. It basically aims to get her out fairly safely and then dominate the field and continuously field wipe the opponent. This file has the potential to do massive numbers to the entire field (including your own), however has many weaknesses and is very easy to see coming due to being pretty much the ONLY falkow file using 14LP. The difficulty in this file is the fact that the file has to try to counter most things in the game and guess when things are going to appear/be played. She doesn't see much use now due to how easy she is to counter. As with Mid/Big Falkow, Half the units can be considered sacrificial (including big noze herself). LP plays an important factor in this file as Noze herself will destroy your LP whenever she attacks, moves, uses standby or uses a skill. She however will NOT use LP when she Iczer attacks.
This will have 3 parts to the cards, Key cards, Sacrificial Cards and Other cards.

Key Cards:
Complete Form / Noze ***** - Also known as Big Noze, the file is based on using her of course she's a Key card. Best to use 2 but one can work (but harder)
Meaning of Failure * - To get the SP required to get the sphere levels and Play her as well as support her with grimoires.
Lost Tome * - To bane some Grimoires and build up grimcount to allow for noze to deal damage, also acts as something to play that doesnt cost SP.
Shear Winds *** - Used to dodge assassin soul skills or other soul skills which have a disengaged clause.
3LP soul skills as you need at least 11LP (recommended to have 13-14 for a big noze file).

Sacrificial Cards:
Not Key, but generally used as either 1 copy, or for their open skills and are good to include.
Chaos Form / Galdirea ***** - Can be used as an equaliser for the opponent and force them to Agi Roll with Noze herself, also can act as a meat shield for her.
Lightning Wyvern ** - Can be used to clear out some units before dropping Big Noze. Also acts as an SP bank. Can also be used to kill lower Lv units who are trying to 1v1 Noze to stall her, allowing her to Iczer attack.
Mirror Shield Soldier of Regus ** - Can be used (along with timestops) to stall. Also can be used to grimbane making the playing field safer for Noze when she comes out.
Talisman Mystic * - Can be used to open to try to bane many grimoires before Noze comes out.
Sylph Soldier ** - Used for her Open to boost Noze's Agi for the turn, then can be used to take a hit for Noze.
Sylph * - As above but stronger Larger AGI boost.
Regus Patroler * - Permanent +2 agi boost. also can be used to take a hit for Noze.
Will o' the Wisp * - Can be added to counter HoG *** or Sakura ***. This is extremely difficult to do regularly and takes high skill (and luck).

Other Cards:
Frost Sorceress / Rasam *** - Can be used endgame, or with timestops to kill off your own Noze if you're running low on LP.
Paladin of Sin / Durendal ***** - Can be used as a tank for Noze, since he is essentially endless copies (if you have 2 of them in the file) he can be very good, however this combo is VERY SP intensive.
Ocean King / Vondora EX - Another possible endgame for this file as your grimcount will be fairly high.
Disjunction *** - Return Lv5 or lower units, can potentially win the game for a Big Noze file.
Thunder Drop ** - Can be used to take out SP gen units or units with low HP and succubus. "Probably my favourite grimoire for mid-big falkow files." - Jazzock
The Truth of Regus *** - Can aid in guessing the type of file you are up against. Also potentially gains SP and potential Grimbane.
Eldritch Hands ** - Can kill that unit trying to stall Noze.
Time stop ** - Good to use to stall, Combos with rasam, also essentially a 2 turn version of shear winds.
Total Failure * - Can combo with Time Stop to allow Noze to get a free turn of attacking, also gets her out of Rasam SS.
Deep Squid ** - Another good stall unit. Can nearly solo some files
Refugee Flying Apprentice * - For raising grimcount and serving as a meatshield.
Song for a Hero - Can give Noze (or another unit) massive stat boosts. Also allows for dodging send to the cemetery effects.
Parts Recycle ** - If you have 1 copy of her, this is pretty much needed. She IS a magic doll after all.

Big Blue
This file is similar to mid blue, but it has more ways to deal with lvl5 or higher units which is a big weakness of the file.

Key Cards:
Meaning of Failure * - for SP generating
Water Emperor / Legrye ***** - really powerful open that can return any unit to the card file, and his auto returns all level 2 or lower units

Common Cards:
Sea Lord / Vonderam **** - can return any level 3 or lower unit, usually played after a tank like Elite Mage Knight
Chaos Form / Galdirea ***** - used in some versions do deal with big units
Deep Squid ** - really good unit to deal with level 4 or lower files, stalls until you get the SP to get more units out
Brood Wyvern ** - you can generate some SP with it and recycle Lightning or Stryke Wyvern or itself to reuse the open

Last Resort / Gaieshart ***** - Soul Skill can be used with Big Noze to generate an extra 8SP. Difficult to time.
Goddess of Darkness / Noze **** - Powerful unit and can return other enemy units regardless of their level, as long as they are engaged. Also Combos with Black Storm
Black Storm *** - Noze's Signature grimoire. Does grimcount x5 direct from all units on both sides of the field, except the unit in area 5 on both sides of the field. Potential to deal lots of damage.

Owl Sage is not key in Mid Blue, as SS or unit. As unit, he can now be replaced by Jewel of the Sea.
You could also be varied in the first SS spot. Considering Distrier or Asuet to get rid of your opponent's starting Distrier/Asuet/Gafc/damage SS is helpful if you want to spam Lightning Wyvern early on.

I would comment on WK, but it's really not needed.

No refugee flying apprentice? It's actually quite a gimmicky card, but much like EX: Mercenary Girl and Little Malice serves the purpose of filling empty set phases and serve as a meatshield as well as getting the grim count up for Vondora.
