Nerf Magic Doll Defective

Postby gadu » Wed Nov 21, 2012 12:49 am

Having this conversation once wasn't enough, so let's do it again.

The Defective-Lucia open makes many files too SP efficient, (i.e. Urgrant or the other L4 Falk already mentioned).

It sets up the early Faytis everyone was QQ'ing about before.

It cannot be stopped by anything except possibly Fire Breath, (tidal gets backlashed).

In an Urgrant file, the SP gap is exacerbated by SP drain, one hit kills, Belus engage, and the coup de grace, double digit SP gen by three Annas.

Jewel nerf cannot be justified without nerfing this card too. So it should be expected to see both nerfed or neither of them nerfed.

Heh. Was wondering when this would finally pop up... Though, is it really Defective that needs a nerf, or Lucia Soul Skill?

In other news, why does this work so much better than Defective-Orthos? Double soul skill access?

Yes, because the +3 Sphere means you can drop a Belus or other strong unit that much faster and start SP draining and one-shotting earlier than usual.

MD defective can allow you your first THREE SOUL SKILLS in a few turns. Jewel can't do that. That can get you a +6-+9 SP edge

And if you let Defective go for enough turns, you can use ALL your soul skills!

The current common use is to quickly mill Lucia for 3 SP for fast deployment of Urgrant and other units with Magic Doll Support as second to raise Lawtia as well. Any more than that, and it becomes a LP liability that outweighs gains.

Not going to argue a case to keep Defective-Lucia, but Defective has enough of a drawback alone that if your method of getting rid of it doesn't work, you're stuck with a leech on your LP.

Defective Doll is fine.

She enables suicide files.

I dont get how you consider it op. First you have more options to kill it then jewel you can actually stop defective from happening besides just returning it.
However if lucia ss nerf would make people happy im all for it. However i never had much of a problem with it.
