Could anyone tell me what the general strategy is for the pre-built Lawtia File Natural Born Killers?

That's a really vague question and you're more likely to get general/vague responses unless there's a good Samaritan around here that's willing to spoon feed you how to play it. Do you have something more specific?

Well so far what I've been trying to do is play Magic Doll -Heavy Shield-/Igina combo as soon as possible. Then while Igina does her thing I try to put down Mindsoldier or Killing Machine. All I am asking really is am I on the right track here?

Well it depends on the situation. Generally you always want to lead with hellsmoke as he does not cost sp to revive while protecting your lp. The heavy-ignia combo is best used for dealing with tanky units (typically Refess) that the rest of your file would otherwise be unable to deal with. Otherwise, it's best to play units like Lebeau and Halberd with hellsmoke as they are quite efficient at dealing with most rush files. Use priestess of madness to keep your smoke alive as long as possible and make use of his buff by continually placing it on units that are likely to make the most use of it (ignia or Halberd).

If you aren't sure what to do, you could try two generic openings:

1) Shade -> Hellsmoke -> Shade -> Lebeau (or Crest Halbred)
2) Shade -> Hellsmoke -> lvl 2 crest fighter

Generally playing the Iginia/MD Shield early is a bad decision. Most files will have damage soul skills firing off left and right that will constantly disrupt your combo. If you play your combo a little later, it will yield far greater results.

Thanks guys. Now I see why I was losing when I tried to rush the Heavy Shield/Ignia combo. ^_^

The last tricky part is getting that +10 more atk on Ignia, Crest Paladin is the best choice if you have him because you don't want to be casting Soul Pact at that time of the game.

Just don't try too hard to get her attack to 150; it should just be one facet of a more comprehensive strategy.
