Ex Merm is OP

User suggestions to improve the game

Well there used to be combat monk. Combat monk was the most overplayed unit of all at some point, every gowen rush and non-gowen rush used to play that card. But tidal renders it useless.

Combat monk averages 25 damage per turn. Ex Mermaid Soldier has 5 defense and heals 20 (30 with emana on the field) per turn. Therefore combat monk does a net damage of 0 per turn.

I wasn't suggesting combat monk ...

I also want to see viable cheap hitters that counter that card. It would be nice if they were return immune too.

Of course, since she lowers gowen levels, she's weak to return. All you have to do is wait until opponent has 0-1 gowen and bam return.

The problem is obviously Returns and Diondora, let's not hide behind EX Mermaid here.

Folrart is cluttered with **** return decks. Left and right you'll see at least 1 return. Sigh.

I think if bulerigid SS didn't exist there wouldn't be a problem.

She is decent, yeah, but if you make her use her no-attack move, she forfeits damage for that turn, and considering that she needs to be using it every turn because she's slow (or becomes slow), she doesn't do a whole lot of damage (though arguably that's not her role). As for the dion control file...bule already got her nerf, Gonzo. She's a negative-sum SS for her user (your opponent gets 2 more cards!), so when you know you're up against that nonsense, if you can trade until bule triggers, you actually come out ahead.

All in all, it's not the EXmerm that's broken. Bule is more than fair atm. Sage got his nerf and so did Dion (she used to be 40 HP!). At some point, people will have to suck it up and realize that Dion control is here to stay. It's the Morphling of Alteil--hard as hell to play, but once someone gets good at it, well, let them reap their rewards if they're willing to sacrifice their sanity to that extent.
