Let's make a thread about how much gran we spent on the set and what we got.

Gran spent: ~9,000
Cash value: ~$75

5*: 4
4*: 6
3*: 15
2*: Got all of them
1*: Got all of them

Rare cards I have a playset of (so are usable): Dilate, Ibert, & Yuni.

Was this purchase worth it? In my mind, no it was not. Would I recommend purchasing this set to new players? I would only recommend this set to players planning on spending hundreds of dollars on this game. If you are not planning to invest hundreds DO NOT BUY THIS SET. Casual spenders may find it worth it to spend ~50 to get all the 1* and 2* cards.

I was looking forward to some of the cool new Refess and Gowen guys. Instead, I get a full set of Noze and about 20 of both Ibert and Mirelia.

Gon,

I am assuming based off your purchasing that you bought 2x gold box and 9 x gold packs. Your recycle rate based off what you wrote is 3360 gran ( 1200 in 5*, 900 in 4*, 450 in 3*, 510 in 2* 300 in 1*).

I have to look up some info I had before and will edit in a 1 minute.
What you can expect in 2 gold boxes are approx.
3.2 x 5*
5.2 x 4*
12 x 3*

For every 5 star you could expect 10 x 3 stars when buying gold packs. So 10 gold packs is 2500 gran.
In 23 gold packs this was the outcome ( not my purchases). 4% of getting a 5 star per gold pack. 8 % chance of 4 star per gold pack. 147% of getting a 3 start (note 1 x3 star guaranteed in a gold pack). So you get on average 3 x3* per every 2 packs purchased.
1 x 5 star
2 x 4 star
34 x 3 star

Some people had to take the first step. Shame you don't get more for buying more- does the cashier still grant a gran increase at 50 usd and up purchases?

spending on set doesn't worth it right now. It will probably be Ok with the auction house since you will be able to sell your extra copy (so its kind of a possibility to trade). The chance to trade your extra copy of a third star for another 3star worth more than current 30 gran you get from recycling right now IMO.

You are exactly correct and that is what I plan on doing. The long term implications of this is ominous though. It works this time as auction house is not available. Once it is though we will have difficulty ( i think) finding first movers since they will be the ones taking the brunt of the cost then trying to make it up on auction house. what if everyone was waiting for someone else to take the (in Gon's case 5600 gran) hit?

Been away all week on a business trip and spent all my free time on LOL.

I'm planning on dumping $150 on this set when I get back and ill post the results here. I'm usually disappointed with how much $150 gets me in terms of set completion especially those falkow 5* that always elude me

Usually i jump right up and buy into it. That lvl2 TGC may actually be very good for me to get. Some other stuff looks interesting aswell... but to buy a whole amount of boxes... For the moment I'm feeling completely cured of wanting to play this game. Perhaps i'll give in later...
