Without a ceiling the Auctionhouse will be just one big failure for players trying to get that Ex, Dion, Bringer, Dilate, Catherina, etc. Since this game has a small bunch of elite willing to buy(=ask) stuff at rediciouless prices.
Please give it a thought.

Actually that would just mean the card would go to those who would offer the maximum bid fastest. The demand will be larger than the supply for some cards, thus some people will not get those cards: either the less rich, or those not wanting to waste to much time constantly checking the AH. If we had targetted parchasing though, anybody could get the cards they wanted for a price alteil deemes fair and people wouldn´t get stuck with wasting money due to the RNG (if you get bad cards (not just good cards you can´t use, but cards below average) you can usually not use them and you also can´t sell them for much on the AH, thus it you will still be left recycling making you lose a decent ammount of gran).
On a side note targetted spending allows alteil to get the prices to whatever they deem acceptable, and allows the players to get them in a more simple less time consuming way. Just take 1 star cards and regular lotto. Due to lotto´s good rate of return you would actually make a profit constantly using it, when you put any 1 star you find on the auction house and manage to sell them for an average of 7 or 8 gran. Note that bad cards can be recycled for 5 gran, thus getting 7 or 8 gran on average is really easy when you can make a 10 to 15 gran profit on the decent ammount of cards, not even mentioning profits made on selling higher rarity cards at the AH above their recycle value. Thus targetted parchasing of 1 star cards will be dirt cheap if alteil doesn´t put a price on AH usage. Alteil can make the price for using the AH large enough to prevent this, but to ensure availability of cards on the AH people need incentive to put up the cards for auction. This requires them making some profit worth the time of putting the card up for action over simply recycling it. As this value can only be 1 to 2 gran per card on average to avoid people actually making gran via lotto it seems likely a lot of cards might be hard to attain from the AH. Just getting rid of lotto and any other shop item with such a great cost per content ratio could also be an option to prevent such problems partially, but getting rid of the shop items with better cpc seems counterproductive as it´ll just increase the annoyance of the RNG.
Targetted spending can´t be abused, any income made on sold cards will automatically go to alteil, simpler to implement, faster for it´s users, ensures both availability and decent prices for any card, etc.
