Sprint #4 - A new type of shiny

For quite some time we were talking about using your funds for new development. We were working on stabilizing the old architecture to an acceptable level so we could focus on new development.

This has been done. Now is the time to enjoy the fruits of your labor. After months of prep work this is the sprint where you start to see everything paying off and speeding up. Exciting times

Sprint Start: 1/10/2013
Sprint End: 2/3/2013

Tasks:

• Move into new office and get equipment ready
• Accept all major credit cards, ultimate gamer card, more
• Re-do the black friday sale once the new payment methods are up
• Create a design document for the Auction House
• Get a new chat client on the live server
• Update registration page to improve the new user registration experience
• Get a new card list online
• Create design documents for new website/game style
• Create proof of concept for new website
• Get video tutorials online, even if we have to make placeholders ourselves
• Network with other game devs
• Deperecate yggdrasil (Old server that isn't worth it's $/month)
• Get off Azure
• Move Apocoplay.com from hostgator to our own machines
• Talk to CSQuared about improving the support system
• Fix the Avatar manager
• Get UD working
• Fix empty user bug
• Clear out ghost battles every Monday morning (automated)
• Either give new users xp in single player arena or improve the forums

Accept new credit cards is done. If there are no problems with the new payment system we will re-do black Friday tomorrow. This will allow the people who missed out last time to get the same deals.

Yggdrasil was the first server on our new network. The old girl only has 24GB of ram for around $100/mont. Our other servers have 64GB of ram and 6 cores (hyperthreading makes it look like 12) with TB more of hd space with a similar cost. She served us well, but it's time for her to be replaced.

I'll share the details of the auction house deign documents as they are finalized this sprint.

Right now the plan is to develop and implement the auction house in sprint #5.
