Exp Boost Daily?

So like, I was like pummeling this npc the falkow npc mercilessly with fire arrows and such after beating him up for fun to get daily lotto pull..

I logged out and logged back in, apparently it gave me my exp boost for a day? Does that mean if I beat up the npcs I can get exp from them once a day? Because it's on cooldown now.
