Welp, those are both easy to rectify.
What you are seeing is part of alteil,apphb.com 's concept. If you aren't logged in you are brought to the sales sate, which is that. The visible part is the third slide of a rotating slider.
Every week we are going to bring people in to get their impressions. If the free part create ambiguity or misrepresents the game, then we'll have to deal with it. If, based on previous information, it's clear that it's a freemium model, then we'll keep it. The point of that page is to get people to want to register, which is why the obnoxious buttons are all over the place - I'd rather market research not show that's the right way to do it, but it is.

A look behind the scenes at the new achievements engine. About 60% done. HTML5, CSS3, and AJAX
Makes it pretty damn easy to tweak achievements or make new ones. So newbies under level 15 should start getting experience in the single player arena soon

Is there any news of the Auction House? Hearing that it is in the process would be better than nothing. And that the Alteil Team is truly considering it.

I can say with certainty that Apocoplay is truly considering it, I have no idea if it is actively "in the works" or not though.

To give an example of how dynamic the achievement engine is....
When I'm finished it will be trivial to add
If a user is playing in a tournament (prereq)
And finished a tournament battle against his/her opponent (conditional)
If the user lost, eliminate them from the tournament (reward)
If the user one, move them to the next round ( reward)
Process this when users finish battles (location)
