I admit I've never really cared for South Park so I'm a bit surprised the show has lasted this long, but it definitely still has at least a cult following out there. When it first came out a friend of mine seemed to really get into it but nothing about the show really amused me, just kind of found it offensive. Years later I tried on a couple occasions to give the show second and third chances, and my experiences were mixed. They'd have a good episode or a good scene here and there, but also have lot of really just out right disgusting/disturbing/offensive stuff I'd have to endure to get to the funny stuff and in the end I felt there wasn't enough funny to make up for the unfunny and haven't watched it again since. I will grant them though that I always love when comedies have random song sequences, whether its a parody or a completely original comedic song for some reason dumb jokes tend to seem funnier when put to music.
