Protest Against The Last Airbender

signs filled the air with hand-written phrases such as "Support fair casting!" and "Hollywood is racist and too ignorant to know it!" The chant of "Get it right, M. Night!" rose above the noise of Sunset Boulevard rush-hour traffic.

Too bad the movie's already been made.

It was a Hollywood blockbuster distributed by Paramount Pictures with a budget of 150 billion dollars. They had no monetary constrictions. They wouldn't need actors from overseas; there is always surplus of Asian-American actors available.

They things being protested were all willed by the creators.

I had heard last year that they had 'ruined' it in their choice of actors.

Except... I only heard of its release because of this protest now. Boycott = free download?

the defense has a technical case in that in this fictional world "asians" don't exist. regardless of how we perceive the characters, they couldn't be wrong...and some a-hole who made the original franchise had to ok the casting. it's pointless to blame hollywood for being as hollywood always is...blame the sellouts who allowed it to happen.

You could put all the Asians in the world into this movie and it still wouldnt be any good.
