Learn to use the Starters - REPLAYS

Postby Logress » Thu Oct 21, 2010 7:08 pm

New to Alteil? This topic is for Replays involving the Starters. All the starters here are either unmodified or lightly modified (usually with cards you start with or can get in the Beginner's Quests).

Everyone learns visually. Once you've got a hang of the basic rules, sit back and watch some of these replays. They'll show you some tried and true turn order for playing units and a few ways to get out of tricky situations.

Well, it's not perfect but it's a start. A few of these battles could probably be better. Also, they're kind of conventional, so I'm happy for any suggestions about less conventional ways of laying out starter units. Eventually, these replays will be on a main site page, with links to Gon's deckbuilding topic and other things like that.

This looks really good! I just watched lawtia vs gowen cause that's really tough. Cool to see the SKIP lvl 3 lvl 3 open. No one seems to ever think of that as a valid possibility in crest. Also letting unit die and replay, as well as showing the soul bind invis druid combo was good.

They are good, but I am going to be nitpicky on one thing, all the replays should have the same open. They should use a conventional open effective against all opponents, because there is no way to know what your opponent will play.

Sorry for the critique

I do agree with the removal of elder druid, plus showing the use of Assassin, and invisible druid/soul bind

True enough, you dont know what your opponent will be playing, but regardless, some opening strategies work better against one thing than another. If your deck is capable of starting the match off multiple ways, you will have to make guesses anyway, and it can decide the match whether you picked the right one or not. This is true for even Folrart, and a lot more for Crest where you have even less indicators (lvl, RP, winning streak, forum, chat, observing can all give you hints to use, but not in crest).)
I didnt watch the replays yet, will be back from school in the afternoon, will do it then.
Something must be wrong with me. I'm giving advices to someone i should kill.

I like how they are rigged =)

But it kind of pains me to watch them xD

Makes me wanna close them after turn 3. I wanted to close it on turn 1 for the lawtia vs falkow one LOL

but all in all, gj on the videos.

P.S. OMG the NPC is controllable!
