Is Alteil a tragedy?

Postby BlueFenrir » Wed Dec 29, 2010 11:45 pm

Sorry to ask this, since it might be a bit of a spoiler thing, but is the Alteil story a complete tragedy? I mean, with the exception of the opening set and the Beasts on Sacred Ground expansion, it just sounds like everything that can go wrong in the world does. The last two expansions really kind of push on this, because first the Wizard Kingdom is betrayed, and then it gets worse when Noze effectively eats all of the Kingdom archive. Maybe it's because the sets only give the major players and set up events in the story, but I feel like all we ever get is bad news. I know that they've already gone into Alteil 2 in Japan, so I just wanted to ask if anyone knows how the story shapes out. I'm not asking for the ending or anything, but I do want to know if nothing good ever happens in this world.

Depends from whose point of view you see things.

Things have never looked better for the triad of chaos for example.

I don't know how the story shakes out exactly, but looking at some of the future jp cards it looks like the hero type characters we have had in the past make repeat appearances in future sets, so not all is lost. I am sure they have some role in saving the world or something. Like dilate for gowen, he is a hero for a reason, I am sure he will show us why in the near future =p.

Considering that the player "iczers" are supposed to be people who use cards to evoke heroes of old, the story is already over, and the badguys probably didn't win (since then the background story wouldn't make sense).

Plus the fact that Complete or perfect form Noze (the last version) takes 2 swords to the chest which i believe effectively kills her. The fates of the triad of Chaos and their master Elgandi (sp) I am uncertain.

It's like anime. This is the part where all the good guys get beat down, look down and crappy. The next set sees them recover and the bad guys getting badder. It ends with the good guys getting a power up, pooling together, and winning. Go, TEAM CHARLIE SHEEN!

I expect no heroes in a sphere with returns. :P

Nor do i see anything wrong with falkow getting betrayed. :D

Alteil is pretty much well balanced. Sometimes you loose and sometimes the enemy wins.
