A Word About NPCs
Written by Logress
Friday, 13 November 2009 22:18

So, by now you might be a little bored of our NPC's.  Unfortunately, it's not quite so easy as tossing a good File into the computer's hands and telling him to go to town. Trying to explain to a robot when it's advantageous to throw out a Sacrafice or a Sky Staff Sorceress for example, is not as easy as you might imagine.  (at least without lagging your game)  However, I have been able to put together three new NPC Files of varying difficulty.

We're planning to put them up late next week, maybe along with some fancy Avatars and names to spruce the existing NPC's up a little. (As exciting as NPCscout is...) We'll also have a little contest to see how many people can beat the new high-level deck on the first day, so keep an eye out!

Arakis' Quest - the Custom Starter Quest 11/9/09 - 11/23/09

Have you ever thought the starter file you got when you began playing Alteil wasn't quite what it should have been? Maybe you had some ideas on how a better starter could be made? Now's your chance to give it a shot. This Quest is all about creating your own (unmodified) starter. This time the restrictions are going to be pretty heavy on what you can and can't use. Very exacting, even.

Turkey Wars Contest
Written by Edgar Figaro
Monday, 09 November 2009 19:25

Last year, Team Alteil had a Contest among it's staff spurred by yours truly, Edgar Figaro's, awesome hand turkey drawing. Everyone seemed to enjoy our holiday festivities that we decided to open to the contest to all our users. The contest is simple. Take your hand, place it on a flat surface, and trace. You'll need to convert these to digital format if you traced them on paper though, no mail in submissions. A scanner perhaps. We like taking a clean hand and pressing it up against our monitor and using the mouse to outline it. Gives a 'kid drew it with crayon' feel.

You can dress your Turkeys up any which way you like. Logress decided to add an extra finger to his for some odd reason. Perfectly acceptable. No profanity, adult images, copyrighted material, or official Alteil art is permitted. Drawing your own version of anything copyrighted IS COVERED under right of parody and is acceptable (i.e. Megaman and Final Fantasy VI fan art).

Submit all hand turkeys to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 20TH.

We will be creating our own 2009 Hand Turkeys as well, separate from the contest. Team Alteil is always festive.

For some extra inspiration, we've included our arting from 2008 after the link. Enjoy ;o)
