Half of Team Alteil will be at the world famous Gencon Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. We were there last year and were welcome with open arms. Lots of good costumes, lots of honest excitement. We're amped. We're going to go for a new record in con signups. 100,500(Divided by 1,000) NEW REGISTERED USERS!!!! So that's ummm... around a... hundred or so. So 100 NEW REGISTERED USERS! It's never been done before(except at the last con we were at)!

So anyways, if you're going to be there, come to Booth 333 in the gaming section of the main hall and show your support. We'll be there with free mini-posters and free in-game prizes for new sign-ups. You can even get your picture taken with the only and only Mr. Keseran Pasaran. For anyone not in attendence, we'll be training new blood Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 10-6 in the training arena. Come on in and help out... but be nice! Don't want to scare off any new players.

Saturday Community Tournament
Written by Logress

Okay, the community is putting together a team tournament this Saturday the 15th. If it works, it would be awesome to do more events like this one.  As some extra incentive, the GM's have put up some small prizes.  You can read all about it on this forum thread.  If you're going to be around, it would be awesome to show this event some real support!
Rankings, Rankings, RANKINGS! You're a Rank Machine!

Sorry, too much Dance Dancing has finally taken a toll on me. I'm seeing arrow patterns in the street, combo multipliers at the top of view, and I think the crowds of people are chanting my praises as I reach triple digit combo heights. I'm getting really good at the game now though. I can competently finish 5 star difficulty songs and half notes are becoming manageable.

So what does this mean to me, the local Alteil player, you may be asking? DDR is mostly about pattern recognition and preparing for the upcoming combo. Sound familiar? Someone throws out a Soul Bind when they have closed cards on the field, probably going to be an Invisible Druid Soul Skill coming your way. Knowing what the popular meta-decks and combos can help you turn the battle around. Some are obvious, others require you to take the bait. So fellow Iczers, always come prepared to battle and someday you'll be able to best Mavel.

As always, anyone who has fought in the arena at least once gets a minimum of 10 gran. Listed below are your top 5 Iczers and top 3 guilds! Enjoy.

Please note that we are working on improving the rankings. Excuse any errors or design flaws.

TOP 5 WEEKLY RANKED ICZERS

  1. Mavel
  2. FireGon
  3. Xideru
  4. evit
  5. worthing

TOP 3 GUILDS

  1. Order of the Black Knights
  2. Royal Flush
  3. SRX Team

GUILDS THAT HAVE BECOME OFFICIAL

  1. Fable

GUILDS THAT HAVE LEVELED

  1. White Bald Eagles 1 -> 2
  2. Kingdom Hearts 1 -> 2
Summer Cards are on the Way
Written by Logress
Monday, 10 August 2009 12:27

It's about time for our seasonal card event.  For those of you who are new, usually we run one of these 4-6 times a year, for holidays or just seasons. The idea is we pick four cards and swap them out with new artwork for about 2 weeks or so. This event is summer themed, so that means Yukata (Japanese robes worn at night for summer festivals) and swimsuits!  This affects the cards you own, so there's no need to do anything. Just log in and check your cards to see if you can spot the new art!  Note: This does not affect the "Starter" versions of the cards.

Summer Seasonal Art: goes from Wednesday, August 12th, through Wednesday August 26th.

Also, next week we'll put together a CONTEST to see if some of you can win permanent versions of the summer art cards!

Alteil Reborn with Improved Game Engine and New Features!
Written by Logress

So, I'm sure our site regulars do not find the title of this post to be very surprising, but I think all the major stuff is in place, so it's time to start sending out our Press Releases and news bytes. For those who are interested, below is our official announcement.

It’s a whole new game! Alteil has been overhauled inside and out, transforming your experience.  New players have all new ways to learn, veterans have all new ways to improve, and everyone in between has more options and more ways to play!

-Single Player Mode: Want to learn or just perfect the flow of your new Card File?  Mix it up with our computer controlled opponents for a while before taking it to the big leagues.

-Duel Spectators:  Now you can watch the experts duel! Take in a match for fun, or to learn advanced tricks. Chat with others ‘in the bleachers’. You can also still have Private Duels if you’re shy, but you get bonus EXP and FM for letting in spectators.

-New Avatar System: Avatars now have a ton more options and eight layers!  New categories include Armor, Hair and Backpack. To celebrate, we’ve added dozens of new Avatar items into the shop. You’ve got to check out all the new options!

-New Game Engine: The back end has been replaced with a more advanced one that will increase game stability, enable new skill types and the addition of future upgrades.

-New Website:  Our sleek new website makes it easy to keep up with new releases, check out info on cards and read strategy articles. The new design actually makes it fun to read news!

-New Rulebook:  The various how-to’s and tutorials on our main site have been tossed out in favor of a single, unified, well-organized rule book. If you want to do anything from just skim the basics (with lots of pictures), to figure out how to micro-manage an obscure timing rule, the new Rulebook is the place for you!

-Demo Mode: Always wanted to try Alteil but didn’t want to make an account until you were sure you liked it? Demo mode lets you one-click to a battle with a trial character. Give the link to your friends to show them Alteil!

Our new rulebook is finally complete. The various how-to’s and tutorials on our main site have been tossed out in favor of a single, unified, well-organized rule book. Avatar Compatibility Bridge Completed

What the title of this post really means is... you've got your hats back.  Also, everyone with an old avatar that had many layers compressed onto one has been given separate avatars for each layer.  That means everyone who has a base PD avatar now has a bald base avatar and the appropriate hair separate.  You get to keep the old ones, too.

Remember, all the old, unsupported Avatars will be removed from the shop next monday.  If you really want one, you can buy one, but if you have issues with your hat behind your hair (or your weapon behind your hair), don't come crying to us.  Although, some people might like the extra equipment they have, if a weapon is built into your avatar's right hand, you can still equip another weapon in your left, etc, etc.

In case you've forgotten, the unsupported Avatars being discontinued are;

-Lavato Citizen Female and Male, all versions A-C

-PD Base Male and Female, all versions (the ones with hair attached) A-L

-Guard Leader Empowered

-Amazon Outfit -Spear-

-Magic Archer Equipped

-Bear Killer with Axe

-Blessed Knight With Arms

-Martial Artists with God Lance

-Guardian Equipped

-Samurai Girl with Katana

-Rapier Fencer Armed

Alteil Upgrade #127
Written by Edgar Figaro
Thursday, 06 August 2009 10:44

Okay okay, it's actually not an upgrade. More like a fix. Well it is actually an upgrade for people who have signed up as of the 3rd of August when it magically stopped working. The search button on the Card List page is now operation again. So go, look for all the warrior/Wizard Kingdom cards to combo with Mage Knight and Amazon. Oh um, trust us, it doesn't really work as a deck. Well then again, we're not very good Alteil players. Maybe our deck masters can come up with a working solution. So that is your mission fellow Iczers if you choose to accept it. Make a useful warrior/Wizard Kingdom deck.

Now get crackin'!
