MysteryMan here with my first front page post. Sprint #4 is starting and we've got a lot of good things in planned for you over the next few weeks.

The first is a new payment system - we now accept most major payment options and can easily add more upon request.

To celebrate this we are re-doing our black Friday Sale so people who missed out the first time can make use of the same deals the paypal users had. The sale will last until 6am Sat.

As always, if you have any isuses feel free to open a support ticket here.

EDIT: um, the cashier I mean, is back up... and all good. For those of you not following along with the drama as it unfolds.

It appears there is a bug with the cashier that seems to be on playspan's end... not exactly sure how this bug could exist without causing a horrible problem for all their other customers, but we've got to wait for them before we can go back up.  Will keep you posted.

To celebrate having a new Cashier Tab, we're going to bring back one of our most popular sales, which happened to run when PayPal was the only available option!  So, now everyone else will have a chance at the sale we premiered on Black Friday.  Here are the details:

New Cashier Up With Ultimate Game Card
Written by Logress
Thursday, 10 January 2013 19:23

The new Cashier is NOW LIVE with Ultimate Game Card and other options, depending on where in the world you are when you go to the Cashier.  We'll be on standby all day if there are any issues, so email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if there is any problem.

Now, the payment systems you see will vairy basied on where you are.  Some of them do not appear automatically, and I will have to submit a separate application to have them added (but if the application is accepted, they will just magically appear, with no changes on our part).  for example, right now I'm going throught the submission process to add Amazon payments. If there is a no-brainer payment option for your area that you're not seeing, let me know and maybe I can get it added.

If everything is cool by the end of the day, then FRIDAY I'm going to put the Black Friday EX sale back up (I don't want you all who don't use paypal to be left out). If you remember, this sale included the EX card-pack and significantly reduced cost as compared to the lotto, AND Rarity up Lotto, and Sphere Lotto. I know the part that sounds most smexxy is the EX cards, but really those Rarity Up Lottos were the rock stars last time. They include a chance to get "You Get Set" cards, each which give you one copy of every card in a set. We ended up giving away about TWENTY sixty card sets during the Black Friday Sale. (And considering the number of spenders we have... um, that's pretty crazy.)

Codified Community Tournaments Coming
Written by Logress

'Codified Community Tournaments'... boy, that's a mouthful.  But, a MEANINGFUL mouthful.

We've had a number of community tournaments in the past, generally run in the Training Arena, the involve a host organizing the tournament (generally in a bracket style), with various extra rules, banned cards, that kind of thing, and the discretion of the host. However, there was always confusion about what prizes could be given out, why they were so low, and rules often became too complicated, and there was too much planning involved to invite repeat hosting. Because the prizes were generally low, users often dropped out without warning, making game day difficult.

To solve all this... well, that's where the 'codified' part comes in.  We will introduce a framework for a community tournament and a series of rules for hosting and participating in them.  Hosts will be given a rating based on the number of tournaments they run, and the number of good reviews they get from the community.  As their ratings increase, so will the prizes they will be able to give out, and so will the rewards they get for hosting.  Hosts will be thus rewarded for their work, and be motivated to continue hosting and to garner positive reviews from their players. The more they host, the better for them, so the more experienced hosts will run more tournaments, which will be good for the community. To keep the work manageable, hosts will also get bonus points for helping out another host, so if a host wants some others around to check for cheaters or answer questions, that will be possible.

For now, this effort will be on establishing a codified set of rules that make sense, are fair, and limit the amount of stuff the host needs to think up on his or her own.  We will use existing tools to manage it and collect host reviews.  If it takes off and becomes very popular, maybe we'll have MysteryMan and his team build something for it.

Ultimate Game Card and More..MUCH MORE

We finally seem to have the bugs worked out of our new Cashier system, supplied by Playspan (needed to work with them on it, and not a whole lot of them around during the holidays).  For those of you who may not realize, Playspan bought paybycash and Ultimate Game Card (and are themselves now part of Visa).

So, Ultimate Game Card (and direct credit card, including Discover) is a given, but they also handle a lot of stuff, like paying by checks and SMS and all that stuff. Exactly what you get to choose from depends on where you are located.  I believe they also have their own currency and if you want to go through that you can get some free stuff.

Here's the plan, Mysteryman is going to clear his schedule for Thursday and basically just sit and wait for anything to go wrong.  He'll turn it on Thursday morning, and watch it and answer support questions throughout the day.  If everything is cool, then FRIDAY I'm going to put the Black Friday EX sale back up.  If you remember, this sale included the EX card-pack and significantly reduced cost as compared to the lotto, AND Rarity up Lotto, and Sphere Lotto.  I know the part that sounds most smexxy is the EX cards, but really those Rarity Up Lottos were the rock stars last time.
